Do You Mind Roses?
Notes from the field
⠀
⠀
I see photographs as evidence
that something like this truly existed.
⠀
⠀
⠀
⠀
They say a photo is worth a thousand words.
I decided to spare many of them.
Still, a few notes.
⠀
⠀
⠀
⠀
The island of Hvar.
Where every corner feels like a living room.
⠀
⠀
⠀
⠀
I photograph whatever catches my attention.
When I feel it’s precious enough.
⠀
⠀
⠀
⠀
Like weed?
Yes, like weed.
⠀
⠀
⠀
⠀
I just take a little bit of colour from here,
and a shape from there.
If it transforms into something else,
so be it.
⠀
⠀
⠀
⠀
Sometimes I walk.
Sometimes I kneel.
Sometimes I lie completely down.
And find myself below the flowers.
⠀
⠀
⠀
⠀
When I think, or say,
“Look at this,”
I know it’s time to shoot.
⠀
⠀
⠀
⠀
Hundreds of “look at this”s
and this cannot turn out to be a bad day.
⠀
⠀
⠀
⠀
…oh, Roses.
⠀
⠀

I live these images - the shapes of nature are worth capturing even the weeds :-)
I really like how you created this post and all of the photos, Davor. It gives us a glimpse into who you are as a photographer and the fascination you have in all the “look at this’s”. The simplicity of the post is beautiful. Well done.
